Momma Turtle on the Beach  June 2013

While swimming on the beach in Paradise Village Resort, Puerto Vallarta, we had a turtle swim past us, waddled up the beach and lay her eggs. The process took over an hour and a half with over hundred tourists watching. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and a remarkable sight!.

Usually turtles come onto the beach during the night, but this was 4 in the afternoon. After the turtle laid her eggs, a group of conservationists came and dug up all 83 eggs and moved them to the Turtle Conservation Sanctuary down the beach. There, the turtles will hatch and be released back into the sea.
